An ordinary life

I did not catch the northern lights

But I collected lots of smiles

When you drop the barriers in your mind

What you get or give are a different kind

Smiles across aisles, around tables and in the street

Smiles shining through the rain and the sleet

Smiles hugging the sunlight

Smiles glowing in bars at night
